CommentI like the pose of the Grey Butcherbird is this shot. It has just landed on the perch and is surveying the ground below looking for its next meal. And I'm using a flash meaning the subject is properly exposed while the shaded background is very dark - an effect I like.
Looking at the The Australian Bird Guide - the large loral spot (more visible is a second shot I have) indicated the birds is a female.

1/200th sec at f/7.1 , ISO 400.
Processed with DPP4, PSE14 with Neat Image v8 plugin.
