CommentI was sitting at home, when two pigeons arrived on an ornamental feature just on the other side of my neighbour's fence. I grabbed my camera and went outside, where they obligingly waited while took some photographs, I think this is a male, as it lacks grey on the forehead, and has a white belly.These birds are very common around Coramba at the moment (due to fruiting Camphor Laurel trees), but hard to photograph as they are normally hidden in foliage.
EquipmentCamera: Olympus E-M10 Mk I
Lens : Panasonic Leica 100-400/ F4.0-6.3
Exposure 1/200; F7.1; ISO 3200. Focal length 350mm
Processed in Photoshop Elements. The bird and foreground feature were selected, shadows and highlights enhanced, and sharpness adjusted. The selection was then inverted and the the background lightened. The image was resized and sharpness again adjusted.
