CommentThis bird is in advanced breeding plumage and some of this species have already departed for their breeding grounds. These birds don't change coloration much as some migratory species, their changes are more subtle. The rear portion of the eye stripe becomes less obvious as it takes on darker streaks, the breast also takes on darker streaks and the bird overall looks a little darker. Close up views show the birds upper plumage have series of dark and paler bands, the paler bands are either edged white or have a white chevrons on outer edges giving them a spotted look.
