CommentThis is one of a resident group of Australian Magpies whom we see every day on our morning walks at Coburg Lake Reserve, and whose beautiful mellow carolling never fails to lift our spirits. It seems to share the northeast corner of the reserve with a large group of Pied Currawongs, although the Magpies seem to occupy the ground and lower levels wile the Currawongs prefer the upper canopy of the large trees in this part of the park. I liked the slightly wistful look on this perched bird, and how the morning sun captured the beautiful scallopping of its back plumage.
