| Comment | I watched this Black Swan and her partner bring up successive families each year at Coburg Lake for some five years but more recently experienced the loss of two hatchings, with the hatchlings disappearing mysteriously within weeks. They have now left the Lake perhaps because of competition with large flocks of White Ibis that have now been descending on the Lake during breeding season. This photo taken in happier times (mid 2017) shows the female swan and her five cygnets in their beautiful light grey down plumage. | ||||||||||||||||||
