| Comment | I was photographing this pelican at the wetlands, Mudgee NSW when he commenced to stretch its bill. I took 27 images of this bill stretching, this being the last in the series. I assumed it was to increase the capacity of the pouch as it soon entered the water to feed. However its been suggested that this bill-stretching is actually part of a courtship display. | ||||||||||||||||||
