CommentOvercast and very windy conditions in our week long holiday stay on Kangaroo Island limited my bird photography to the bird bath at our rental. It was located under the 1.5m high coastal mallee. Lots of shadows and dappled light so I had to use flash. As you can see this image was taken after the bird exited the bird bath...first having drank, bathed and then shaken off the excess water. This female is the sub species halmaturinus, endemic to SA and Kangaroo Island.
