CommentThese little Finches were lighting up as they crossed the sunlight with their outstretched wings as they approached my birdbath. To capture this I set up on manual focus to a predetermined approach point and waited for my subjects to appear. It wasn't until I captured one still (after many attempts) in this position that I could appreciate how the afternoon light made the feathers translucent against a softly contrasting background. I have reduced noise overall, added some sharpness to the faces using a mask and added a touch of blue tint to the water to make it feel cleaner.
