CommentThe Chinese Pistacio tree (Pistacia chinensis) in my garden attracts lots of parrots in late summer when the fruit is ripe. Sulphur Crested Cockatoos occupy the upper canopy and are quite destructive, breaking off large clumps of leaves and fruit and dropping most to the ground. King-Parrots tend to occupy the lower branches or scrounge on the ground. Crimson Rosellas tend to be almost exclusively on the ground. This female appears to be moulting with new feather stubs visible on the head.
