CommentI took my camera for a walk after lunch with the hope of getting some flight practice at my local pond. The Darter was preening when I arrived then slipped gently into the water and came up with a fish (juvenile Redfin Perch). It was overcast with soft light and the smooth background enabled a clean and simple composition that effectively tells the story.
EquipmentCanon 1Dx II + 600 mm f/4 III + 1.4x III extender, hand-held. Manual, spot metering, AI Servo AF with 4-pt expansion, f/5.6, 1/2000 sec, ISO 1250. Processed using DPP4 and PSE14 with Neat Image plug-in.
