CommentI was running out of time attempting to capture an image of this bird after a number of visits to the last remaining waterhole in the area...with the clock ticking I was becoming increasingly less hopeful. The arrival of a Goshawk didn't lighten my pessimism as the a flock of Honeyeaters & Finches became agitated. However the desire to drink got the better of this particularly bold individual and I was able to capture this shot. The colouring of the bird and the subtle, dry tones of its surrounds I feel complement each other well.
