CommentRusset-tailed Thrush foraging on my overgrown front lawn. I can hear the clear two-toned call of this bird in the early morning - distinguishing it from the similar Bassian Thrush. It is also found at lower altitudes (altitude at Coramba is 100 m) than the Bassian Thrush. This bird is fairly accustomed to my presence, and is frequently seen feeding in the open in Spring, but retreats to the surrounding bush when threatened. However, it remained in the shade for this photograph.
