CommentTwo Wompoo Fruit-Doves landed in the trees surrounding my backyard while I was trying to photograph something else. The light was very poor as the trees were in shade. Fortunately, the birds appeared to be settling down for the night, and stayed relatively still. I used a tripod to support the camera, to allow for a low shutter speed. The image was post-processed in Photoshop Elements by selecting the bird to lighten shadows and enhance sharpness. I reversed the selection to darken the highlights in the background to reduce the distraction of the background to some extent. However, these are rainforest species, and therefore normally located in this type of environment.
