CommentI noticed this Crested Tern out of the corner of my eye and saw it had quite a mouthful! I have cropped this a little as the bird was in the bottom left corner in the original image. The original also just has the water as a background. I'd be interested in any opinions as to the effectiveness of the shot and whether I could have done anything better with it. I'm always a bit unsure when I have a single bird against a 'plain' background (more so when against a plain sky). I have also submitted a shot of the same bird with wings side-on, image 34146.
