CommentA secretive, tiny little bird with a habit of popping up from within a spinifex clump and disappearing from view equally fast. There is usually no time to compose a shot or even lock focus. Many of my frames were in focus on the surrounding vegetation but not on the bird! In desperation our friend resorted to manual focus without success. Undoubtedly one of the most frustrating and challenging situations I have encountered. This is the more dowdy female taking a brief look at us from the top of a spinifex clump.
