This species was misidentified as Common Greenshank x5

The Marsh Sandpiper is distinguishable from the Common Greenshank by the beak shape. The Marsh Sandpiper has a straight, thin beak whereas the Common Greenshank has a long, slightly upturned beak.

Some other identifying features for the Marsh Sandpiper are:

- Long, dull yellow-green legs

- Dark bar on underwing

- Long legs extend past tail in flight

- White wedge on back
