CommentThis species is very similar to the Chestnut-breasted Quail-thrush of which it was recently considered a sub-species. The main distinguishing feature of the Western Quail-thrush is the coloration of the plumage on the male – a broader black breast-band with a white band above it, as seen here, giving it its Latin name Cinclosoma marginatum.
EquipmentCanon EOS 7D MkII + 400mm f/4 DO II, handheld Manual, partial metering, f/4 1/ 800 sec, ISO 800. Processed with DPP4 & Photoshop Elements 15 with Neat Image 8.3.
