CommentAn adult Fairy Tern in breeding plumage sitting on the tidal, sandy beach on the foreshore was brought a small fish by its mate. Nairns, Coodanup Foreshore; GPS. Globally, the status of this bird species is that of ‘Vulnerable’
EquipmentOlympus OM-D E-M1X camera body with Olympus 300mm f4 IS Pro ED M.Zuiko lens + Olympus MC-14 1.4x Teleconverter; handheld. Shutter speed 1/1250s, f7.1 & ISO-250. Manual Exposure/Centre Weighted Average Metering Mode, Focus Mode: Continous AF. Olympus Workspace; Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw/CC 2019; Topaz Pro plug-ins for sharpening and noise control. Australian Bird Guide for colour check. In this image I have done some selective sharpening, enhanced the eyes of both birds and lifted the shadows in 'Background Layer' by Adobe Photoshop CC 2019, though the differences from the previous image are subtle
