CommentImmature Chestnut Teal. Note carriage of tail, eye colour. When side by side with female parent, noticeably lighter. This image was taken before Kelly's Swamp dried out. The bird would still have been flightless at that time. Its survival chances would have been slim. The green on the forehead is the green algae upon which the bird is feeding.
