Comment'a distance' is too vague to mean anything except to the seasoned birdwatcher.

The area described is vague. In practice and from observation 99% of visitors in the general area of Pied Oystercatcher habitat would not see a nest.

For this sign to work depends on specific nesting sites being signed and/or cordoned off.
The image of the bird is attractive. The outer tail feathers are being replaced in a synchronous and symmetrical moult.
