CommentWhen I first focused on this bird to take the photo, there was a bit of blue colouration on his throat - the rest of his feathers were jet black. Then within a split second he turned to one side and displayed a kaleidoscope of glossy colours. He is without doubt the most difficult bird I have tried to photograph in terms of good exposure settings.
EquipmentCanon 7D Mark II with Canon EF 100-400 f4.56 – 5.6 IS II USM lens at 400mm, 1/400 sec, f7.1, ISO 320 on tripod.
