CommentThis is a young Gilbert's honey-eater, the cap has not yet turned black and while the bill is now fairly dark the gape is still orange. The background was in deep shade giving a dark background which is not ideal, but I've posted it as there are only a few images of juvenile/immature birds in the gallery.
EquipmentNikon D500 with Nikon 200-500mm lens at 500 mm.

Processed with PSE 15 convert raw image & to crop,adjust exposure, & sharpening following Glen Pure & Ian Wilson's guidelines
