CommentI like this image as the red eye of the coot really stands out against the black of the feathers and the white of the beak, which is illuminated by the light coming in from the side. I also like the pose of the bird, with the head turned and the legs crossed as it searches the shoreline for food. The eye and head are clearly in focus and the image is suitably sharp. While not an overly dramatic background, the greens that punctuate the brown shoreline add a bit of extra interest to the shot
