Purple Swamphen

Purple Swamphen (Image ID 46410)
CommentThis image was taken at 4:47 pm with the sun going down. A few Swamphens had come out of the water to feed on the grass adjacent to a collection of water. I was lying on the ground quite close to the birds and with a fixed 500mm lens I could not get a full body shot so with the green grass as a background I waited for this bird to lift its head so I could take the portrait.
