Purple Swamphen

Purple Swamphen (Image ID 46317)
CommentThese birds always look so prehistoric but this close up enabled me to truly appreciate their beauty. Taken at the waterside area in front of the Lake House Hotel in Daylesford, the local birds are used to tourists galore wandering through and are not as timid as normal. I also love the flowing water aspect behind providing a good reference to this birds natural habitat.
