CommentThis photo was taken on an overcast day. The reflection of the clouds on the water surface caused this near white background. The image has some monochrome qualities to it, but this is belied by the red colour on the bird\'s head. Another feature that adds to the image in my opinion is the subtle detail in the foreground. If you look closely you will notice ripples on the water surface as well as small patches of weed breaking through.
