Dusky Moorhen

Dusky Moorhen (Image ID 46062)
CommentAs I walked by the three ponds which comprise St Peters Billabong, these two Dusky Moorhens suddenly burst into action, having been quietly and peacefully foraging for food. I did not see what prompted the action, but was pleased to have captured it, and it was not until I downloaded my images that I could see that the Moorhen being chased has a passenger! I did not know that Moorhens carried young on their back, so I have learnt something new!
