Lord Howe Woodhen

Lord Howe Woodhen (Image ID 45852)
CommentThe Lord Howe Island Woodhen is a very special bird having been brought back from the brink of extinction. It is an inquisitive bird and I chose this image as it illustrates this trait. After first investigating my backpack some distance away it turned its attention to me as I lay quietly on the ground. It then moved slowly off scratching in the leaf litter as it went.
