Buff-banded Rail

Buff-banded Rail (Image ID 45701)
CommentThe direct sunlight on the bird and the contrast with the shadowed shore edge as it foraged under some bushes in early morning light really makes the bird stand out. I've emphasised this by keeping the bird smaller in the frame than I normally might for a portrait. I also liked the fact that it is going about its feeding seemingly oblivious, or at least not bothered at all, by my presence.
