CommentI really enjoy spending time on the mudflats in the late afternoons with the shorebirds. Lying in the mud watching them fly in as the tide is going out. feels like you are right there with them. This Terek Sandpiper had landed and was slightly isolated from the other waders in the background. that had already landed, and were resting and preening at the waters edge before moving off to feed. This bird is just starting to show its dark breeding stripe on its scapulars.
