CommentCockatoos were one of the birds I most enjoyed photographing last year, and this shot of a female Carnaby’s as it comes into land was one of my best. We were driving to a National Park to look for wildflowers when we found a large flock feeding on the grasses in a hillside paddock. Perching on the fence and in the trees on the opposite side of the road, there were Cockatoos flying in all directions and I had no idea what bird to focus on! Luckily I chose this one as it landed in front of me wings spread, a full flare of that beautiful white tail, and grass seed stuck to its bill tip.
