I came across this young night heron perched at eye level, only a few metres from a main walking track sitting in the open area, most of the time the are in thick cover making them quite difficult to photograph.The lighting coming through the trees wasn't the best with only small pools of light to work with, but this very obliging subject sat in one these pools giving plenty of different and comical poses. Very happy with the final result.
