Laughing Kookaburra

Laughing Kookaburra (Image ID 44885)
CommentGetting the best angle on this tolerant bird meant relatively close proximity limited by a steep dropaway just behind my position, resulting in tight framing with good feather detail. I was happy with the final image, as the natural gradient in the background and the warm light on the subject combined to give the atmosphere of a traditional formal portrait.
