Comment | My concentration had been totally absorbed by some other waders that were much closer to me than these two birds. I looked up from the viewfinder at one point, and caught sight of this pair of love birds in this romantic pose. The sun had just popped over the horizon and the whole lake was bathed in gorgeous golden light. I immediately shifted my attention to these two birds and was able to capture a few frames before they wandered off in search of a meal. The colours that you can see here are all natural, but they did not last long. Approximately 5 minutes later the sun had moved higher, and the lighting was much more ordinary. Given the still conditions and lack of movement from the subjects, I was able to drop my shutter speed and iso right down, to improve the image quality, The settings were 1/50 sec, f5.6 @ iso100. I have cloned out a small distracting out of focus obstruction from the bottom right hand side. | |||||||||||||||
