Comment | Tidying up - Anxiously awaiting a female visitor, a juvenile male Satin Bowerbird quickly re-arranges a blue bottle cap to decorate his bower. He quickly jumps from one spot to another while he ruffles his feathers and chirps longingly. Being a keen interior designer, he trusts his cleaning and arranges skills to woo his partner. I have chosen to submit this photo to this competition as it is one of my favourite photos from last year's photography projects. For me, what makes this picture special is how the juvenile male interacts with his bower while he carefully decorates it with human-made objects. The photo also is an intimate moment rarely seen and only captured after extensive observation with the use of camouflage. | |||||||||||||||
