CommentAs this bird does not have any breast band and has rather weak overall colouring, I believe it is a subadult female Western Quail-Thrush. I also have images of another adult bird feeding with it featuring a white border to its black breast-band, without a doubt a male, but those images are in among shrub, movement blurred and mostly in complete shade. This image was taken in The Shire of Yalgoo, Western Australia, wherefore no doubt remains in my mind with the regards to identification of the species. I observed the birds for rather a while, and they habitually kept in the shade and saw to it that there was some cover between me and them; though not directly afraid, they were quite aware of my presence.
