Fairy Tern

Fairy Tern (Image ID 44602)
CommentIn 2020 I started a journey to learn bird photography – and discovered Terns, I was hooked. Challenges were in abundance learning settings, not being afraid of ISO and getting my head around processing and composition. Several challenges included getting the eyes and positioning for a good background and then snapping away. I like this photo for the above reasons, but also learning and observing bird behaviour and the incredible detail unique to each bird. I used a low ISO initially being afraid at noise and had no understanding of over/under exposure…I soon overcame this.
