Gang-gang Cockatoo

Gang-gang Cockatoo (Image ID 44427)
CommentPossibly one of my favourite birds, this female Gang-gang Cockatoo and the rest of her family provided a great highlight on an otherwise dull day. I watch them for about 30 minutes while they feed on the Hawthorn berries. They were low down and very quiet, not at all concerned about my presence. This image showing the typical feeding behaviour - holding the food one one claw - was the best of the day.
