CommentTaken at dawn (04:52) out towards Peel Harvey Estuary and the mounds of Serpentine and Murray Rivers, the Nairn Foreshore of Mandurah, Western Australia is an important wintering feeding ground for many species of migratory birds. Serpentine River mound is at the closest to the left, and Murray River mound is at the rear of the image, to the right of the centre. By looking carefully, you will see the river entry navigation lights for both rivers.
Shortly after dawn, waterbirds will start to arrive to forage, and when they are full, they will often sit and rest on exposed sand banks, depending on the tide.
