Black Swan

Black Swan (Image ID 42749)
CommentI chose this shot as it demonstrates a double reflection of a pair of Swans in a synchronised swimming ballet routine reminiscent of Swan Lake. The eyes are sharp and visible and the red pops on the birds and in the reflections. The composition is pleasing with the heads aligned and as one body finishes the next begins. There is a little ripple of water behind the rear Sawn that gives a sense of movement. The technique of 'repetition' is also used here to focus extra attention on the subjects. Exposure is good and blacks at the right place in the histogram. Back and Foregrounds are appropriately blurred but still giving a sense of 'habitat'.
