CommentI live and work in Northern Territory in and with remote aboriginal communities. This bird is significant in their culture and given great respect. It represents so much of what I see about these incredible peoples. When the world is great for them it is full of colour and strength. I was at Yellow Waters at sunrise and this beautiful creature wandered past full of colour and strength shining through the warmth of the morning sun. Like the peoples I work with, this bird comes from an era long before I got here. This beak symbolizes the strength needed to have survived this long as have these peoples. And I just love the combination of colours highlighted by the morning sun. The other part I love about this photo it clearly shows it is not a BLACK necked stork.
