CommentI recently attended a birds-in-flight show at the David Fleay Wildlife centre in QLD. While everyone else was watching the sea eagle on show, I spotted a wild Nankeen Night-Heron that had flown into some nearby bushes. It sat quietly for some time, obviously hoping for some leftover fish. This allowed me to fire off a few shots, capturing the amazing colouring of this gorgeous bird. Despite the low light conditions, I was able to show the striking facial features of the bird, with a dark, non-distracting background.
