Comment | I have posted this contribution for members interested in Bob Young's comments regarding highlight clipping in this image. The image is a screen grab of a 16-bit TIFF before any Cloud processing for noise reduction. The histogram is from the 16-bit file resampled to 256 sampling bins on the horizontal axis. Both axes are displayed on a log-log scale to magnify the the highlight end of the histogram. The image of the bird shows highlight clipping set to 255 DN (shown in black). There is no highlight clipping in the blue channel but there is some in the red channel on the bird's crown corresponding to the brightest noise values . After Cloud processing, downsizing and conversion to JPEG there is some highlight clipping on the crown, it could have been avoided by pulling back the highlight slider in RAW adjustment by 2/3 stop. | ||||||||||||||||||
