CommentA difficult bird to get good, clear views of and indeed photograph, the small and whimsical Spotted Pardalote comes to ground at breeding season to dig a nesting chamber into a creek bank or other suitable embankments. It took me years to get this good a photo of both sexes together and still I accidentally cropped off some of the female in-camera. The moment of opportunity was very brief.
The birds depicted are of the of the nominal, southern WA subspecies: Pardalotus punctatus punctatus
