CommentTo watch these Albatross fly around the boat at 10s of metres is amazing. The colour of the bill alone draws the eye, then the fine details of the grey hood over the brilliant white chest and belly - and the white of the skull cap are breathtaking. However, when an individual drifts over the stern within a few metres, the detail is stunning. The detail of the bill becomes clear and the brown eyes challenge the viewre to throw a bit of fish. This head shot of a Bullers Albatross (southern ssp) allows clear identification of the species and therefore meets the requirements of this competition
