Bush Stone-curlew

Bush Stone-curlew (Image ID 40895)
CommentStone-curlew eyes! I feel like they look into my soul when I look at them. The stone-curlews at this location attempt to breed each year in inappropriate locations like carparks and tennis courts- generally failing. This photo was not taken at a nest however.... I wouldn't want to breach rules. Captured at f/7.1 to get as much of the bird sharp as possible while obtaining a soft background. Tripod for the slow shutter speed. Bird was in the shade. Good thing about Stone-curlews is that they are good at remaining still.
