Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater

Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater (Image ID 40836)
CommentThe distinctive colouring of the beak and the white spiny hair on the cheek clearly identifies this as an adult Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater thus meeting competition requirements. (unsure if male or fe male.) Although a common bird in the Mallee area of Australia, I entered this because it is a beautiful bird, the light blue coloured eyes, the colouring of the beak and the cheek feathers all add to its appearance. This photo has only been cropped slightly. Taken in RAW and processed in ACR with some minor processing such as vibrance, vignetting in Photoshop.
