Diamond Firetail

Diamond Firetail (Image ID 40474)
CommentProbably not self evident but the 'wow' factor in this photograph for me (and my reason for submitting it) is the bird. This is the first time that I have observed this species in my locality since the 2003 bushfire season. I came across four birds foraging with a group of mixed thornbills and other species in fairly open country and was able to walk along with them for about five minutes and then they were gone. It was a dull day but I opted for a fairly high shutter speed as the birds were constantly moving, consequently I have attempted some background noise reduction in post processing. I managed to capture three decent frames, of which this is the best. Camera hand held.
