Yellow-rumped Mannikin

Yellow-rumped Mannikin (Image ID 40432)
CommentI have only managed to photograph Yellow-rumped Mannikins a few times and they have always been an incredible challenge. On this day I had found a fairly significant flock mixed with Chestnut-breasted Mannikins just north of Kununurra but it was still extremely difficult to get close. I found this image appealing as it focuses on the individual within the group and demonstrates their beautiful colours which unlike many of the finches blends rather than contrasts with their environment.
