Painted Finch

Painted Finch (Image ID 40340)
Resolution1800x1401
ID40340
CommentSeveral flocks of Painted Finches were seen to land on rocks above a waterhole then fly down to drink. The following morning I positioned myself near these rocks and waited. There plumage colour is a contrast to the harsh dry Pilbara area of Western Australia during a drought.
